Psalm 119 (Part 2) You LORD are all I want, my portion

You LORD are all I want, my portion,
I have promised to obey your words.
I’ve sought your face with all my heart LORD,
As you promised be gracious to me.
I’ve thought upon my ways
Turned my feet to your commands;
I’ll hasten not delay to keep our laws.
Though men bind me with ropes,
I’ll not forget your law;
I’ll rise at the midnight hour,
Thanking you for your righteousness.
I am a friend to all who fear you,
And to all who follow your precepts.
The earth is filled with your great love LORD;
Teach me all of your decrees.
Do good to me I am your servant.
Act according to your word O LORD.
Teach me sound knowledge and good judgement
For I believe in your commands.
My life has gone astray,
And you afflicted me,
Now I live according to your word.
You’re good and do what’s good
Teach me your statutes LORD
Proud men tainted me with lies,
But I’ll keep your laws with all my heart.
Their hearts are callous and unfeeling;
I was sore afflicted, vowed to learn your law.
Now I delight in your decrees Lord,
Your laws precious are more valuable than gold.
Your hands have made me, they have formed me.
Help me understand and learn your laws.
May those who fear you, who see me
Be made glad for my hope’s in your word.
Your judgement Lord was right
When you afflicted me.
Your faithful, promised love, comforted me.
Through your love may I live
Your law is my delight.
May proud men be put to shame,
They who wrong me without cause.
I’ll meditate on all your precepts.
May those who fear you turn to me and know
All I have learned of all your statutes
Keep me blameless, spare my heart from shame.
My soul faints, longs for your salvation
For Lord in your word I’ll put my hope
My eyes fail looking for your promise
While I ask ‘When will you comfort me.
Though I am scoured and scarred,
Like wineskin in the smoke,
I won’t forget you wise decrees O LORD.
How long Lord must I wait
For punishment to come
On those vain men who misuse me;
Against your law they dig pitfalls for me.
All your commands are to be trusted
Help me when I’m hurt for no just cause.
They almost wiped me from the earth LORD,
Through your love, preserve my witness LORD.
Your word O Lord it is eternal,
And it firmly stands in heaven above.
You’re faithful through all generations
You made the earth and through you it endures.
Your laws they still are true
For all things will serve you,
And if your law had not been my delight,
My life would have been lost
Then I’d have known the cost,
But you saved me, I am yours.
Your laws Lord have preserved my life.
The wicked lie in wait to harm me,
But I will ponder all your statutes Lord.
To man’s perfection there’s a limit.
But not so you for boundless is your word.
All through the day I meditate Lord,
For I love your statutes and your laws.
They make me wiser than my foes Lord,
They are forever on my mind.
My understanding’s sure
Of insight I have more
Than all the wisest teachers in the land.
And I have kept my feet
From every evil way
And I have not strayed from all you’ve taught,
Nor departed from your truth.
How sweet are your words to my lips Lord
Sweeter their taste than honey on my tongue.
For I’ve gained knowledge from your precepts
How I do hate each erring path.
Your word’s a lamp to guide my feet Lord,
And it shines a light upon my path.
I’ve sworn an oath and have confirmed it:
I will follow all your righteous laws.
Though I have suffered much
Please Lord preserve my life,
And save my life according to your word.
Accept my willing praise
And teach me your commands,
And though my life is constantly at risk,
I will not forget your laws.
The wicked set their snares about me
But I have not strayed from your precepts LORD.
They are my joy; they last for ever,
My heart’s set, I’ll keep them to the end.
I love your law, you are my refuge
And my shield, my hope is in your Word.
I hate the evil, double-minded,
Away from me; I will keep God’s commands.
Sustain me then I’ll live
Don’t let my hopes be dashed
Your promises uphold, deliver me.
I’ll always have regard for all that you’ve decreed.
You reject all those who stray;
All their wiles will be in vain.
All of the wicked are discarded,
They like dross, discarded from the earth.
My flesh it trembles, I’m in awe LORD.
Therefore I stand in awe of your laws.
