Psalm 112: Blessed is the man who fears the Lord

Blessed is the man who fears the Lord,

Who finds such great delight in his commands.

His children will be mighty in the land;

Their generation blessed.

Wealth and riches are within his house;

His righteousness endures throughout all time;

Even in the darkness light will dawn

For the upright.

For gracious, compassionate and righteous men,

Shaken they never shall be.

Good will come to him of generous heart ;

Who lends his money freely without charge.

His dealings with all men are just and good,

He’ll be remembered.

And he won’t fear the coming of bad news.

His heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord;

And with no fear his heart it is secure,

In all he does.

For gracious, compassionate and righteous men,

Shaken they never shall be.

His righteousness endures throughout all time;

He scatters gifts abroad amongst the poor.

His dignity uplifted it will be,

High in honour.

The wicked man will see this and be vexed,

He’ll gnash his teeth and he will waste away;

The longing of the wicked in the land

Will come to nothing.

For gracious, compassionate and righteous men,

Shaken they never shall be.
