Psalm 110: The LORD says to my LORD

The LORD said to my Lord;

“Sit at my right hand,

And your enemies will be

A footstool for your feet.”

Your mighty sceptre the LORD will extend,

From Zion throughout the whole earth:

O your troops will be willing

In the day of battle,

“You’ll rule in the midst of your foes.

You’ll rule In the midst of your foes.” 

And arrayed in holy majesty

As the womb of the dawn brings dew:

The strength of your youth you will receive. (x2)

The LORD has sworn

And will not change his mind.

You’re a priest forever

Of the order of Melchizedek.

The Lord he is at your right hand,

And on the wrathful day,

He’ll crush kings

And he’ll judge the nations,

Heaping up their dead

And crushing the rulers of earth.

And he will drink water

From a brook beside the way.

And he will lift up his head. (x2)
