Psalm 90: LORD you have been my dwelling place

Psalm 100 album cover 2.jpg

Lord You have been my dwelling place,

Throughout all generations past.

Before the mountains they were born,

The earth and all the world You made.

From everlasting to everlasting You are God.

You turn men back to dust and say

“Return to dust O sons of men.”

For in your sight a thousand years

Is like a day that’s just gone by.

Like a day just gone by

Like a watch, a watch in the night.

And men you sweep away in death,

They’re like the morning grass that’s new.

It springs up new and fresh each day,

But by the evening it is gone.

It dries up and withers

Dries up, it withers and it is gone.

And in your anger we’re consumed,

Your indignation terrifies.

And when our sins come to your light

Our secrets there before you stand.

And all our days lie under

Underneath your wrath.

And with a moan our times are gone,

The length of them is seventy years,

Or eighty if we have the strength,

For sorrow spans and troubles them.

And they quickly pass

And then they, and then they fly away.

O Lord Your wrath is very great,

Just as the fear that’s due to you.

Who knows its power, so teach us Lord,

To number all our days aright.

That we might gain wisdom

Wisdom, wisdom in our hearts.

How long O LORD till you relent.

Look on Your servants, pity them.

And fill each morning with your love

That we might sing with songs of joy;

Be glad all our days and sing,

Sing our songs of joy.

And now Lord give us happiness,

To match the years of troubles past.

And make your servants glad to see,

Your deeds of splendour shown to them.

May the favour of God, rest, rest upon us Lord.

And Lord bring Your blessing on all, on all we do for You.
