Our God is known, in Judah he’s known;
His name it is great throughout Israel.
And in Salem town he pitches his tent;
His dwelling place is in Zion.
He broke flashing arrows, shields, swords,
All the weapons of war.
The valiant lie plundered, Sleep sleep which lasts for evermore:
Not one of the warriors
Can lift his hands any more.
You are resplendent with light;
Your majesty fills our sight,
More than the mountainous heights:
The mountains that teem with rich game.
At your rebuke, the chariots stand still.
At your word the horses are motionless.
For you Jacob’s God, are feared on the earth;
Who can stand when you are angry.
From heaven comes judgment,
The land feared and then it was quiet;
When you, God, rose up as the judge,
Saved the lost from their plight.
Chorus
Surely your wrath against men will cause
All those who are saved to bring praises.
And those who survive your wrath are restrained,
And evil on earth is abated.
Make vows to the LORD God fulfill them;
Let him be revered.
Let lands who are neighbours
Bring gifts to the One to be feared;
For he breaks the spirit of rulers;
By kings he is feared.
Chorus
