May our God arise,

Let his enemies be scattered

And may his foes all flee before our God.

May you them blow away

As smoke blows from a fire;

As wax it melts before the fire’s heat.

May the wicked perish before our God.

May the righteous ones be glad in him.

Happy in their God,

May they joyful be,

As they come rejoicing before God.

Sing to God sing praise,

Extol him with rejoicing:

He’s The Lord and rides upon the clouds.

To the fatherless,

He is a heavenly father;

Defends the widows who are left alone.

God sets lonely people in their families.

Leads the prisoners out in joyful song.

But rebellious man

Lives away from God.

In a sun-scorched land his dwelling is.

God when you went forth,

Leading out your chosen people;

And marched them through the barren wilderness.

Then the earth it shook,

And rain poured down from heaven,

As Sinai’s God and Israel’s God came forth.

You refreshed your people – your inheritance,

With abundant showers you rained on them.

They did settle there

From your bounty God

You gave and provided all their needs.

When God’s word’s announced

The women who proclaim it

Are such a mighty throng, then armies flee.

They go through the camps,

Dividing up the plunder.

When God did scatter kings across the land.

Even as you slept among the sheepfolds,

God came forth and scattered kings like snow.

Israel was enriched

By what God had done.

The dove’s feathers edged with shining gold.

The high mountain range -

The majestic heights of Bashan,

Are not the heights where God does choose to dwell.

They in envy gaze, those rugged heights of Bashan,

On Sinai where our Lord he makes his home.

The chariots of God

Are many tens of thousands,

As the Lord comes to his sanctuary.

You ascend on high

And lead captives free.

Men and even rebels bring their gifts.

Praise be to The LORD,

He is our God and Saviour,

Bears our daily burdens, he’s the LORD.

Our God is a God

Who saves us; he is sovereign

He saves us so that we escape from death.

Surely God will crush the heads of enemies.

They with hairy heads who walk in sin.

I will bring them down

From high, up from depths.

You’ll wade through blood and dogs will have their share.

Bridge

Your procession God, is now come into our view.

To his sanc’tuary comes my God and King.

Singers out in front,

Musicians follow after,

And then the maidens playing tambourines.

Praise God all of Israel in assembly.

Praise him in the congregation great.

Benjamin leads them

And then the princely throng.

Of Judah, then the princes from the north.

Summon up your power,

And show us your great strength Lord,

As you have before in days gone by.

Kings will bring you gifts.

To your temple in Jerus’lem.

And they will bring their gifts before you LORD.

But rebuke the beast which is called Eygpt.

They’re like herd of bulls among the calves.

May they humbly bring

Their gifts of silver bars

Scatter them whose kings delight in war.

Sing to God sing praise,

To the Lord, you earthly kingdoms.

To him who rides the ancient skies above.

And proclaim his power

Who thunders over Israel.

In majesty and with a mighty voice.

You are awesome God; your power is in the skies.

You are awesome in your sanctuary.

God gives Israel power

And his people strength.

So praise be to our God; let’s praise the Lord!
