Psalm 60: God you’ve rejected us

Listen on Spotify, Amazon or Apple Music
God you’ve rejected us,
Burst upon us;
You have been angry with our land:
Shaken and torn it,
Ripped it right open.
Mend it, it quakes O God.
Your people have been
Through desperate times Lord,
Staggering like drunkards on cheap wine.
But those who fear you,
Have raised a banner;
They stand against the foe.
Save us and help us
With your right hand, Lord,
So those you love are delivered.
God he replies:
I’ll restore your borders;
All that I gave to you.
Gilead is mine,
Manasseh is mine
And Ephraim’s my helmet and Judah -
My sceptre is,
But Moab is dross;
On Edom I toss my shoe.
Men of Philistia,
He’ll triumph over,
Who’ll take the fight on to Edom?
Is it not God,
Who once did reject us;
Gives us his aid again.
Yes it’s our God,
Who gives us his aid
For mere human help it is worthless.
With God we will
Gain victory and then he’ll
Trample our enemies down.
