Do you rulers speak uprightly among men,

Speaking justly in your dealings among men.

No your hands they meet out violence on the earth

And you scheme, devise injustice in your hearts.

For from birth the wicked they have gone astray.

From the womb their lives are wayward, speaking lies,

And their venom’s like the venom of a snake.

Like a cobra that has stopped up both its ears.

Who will pay no heed to tunes the charmer plays.

However skilled enchanter he may be.

Lord tear out the fangs of lions who would eat men.

O Lord break their teeth whilst they are in their mouths.

Let them vanish as when water runs away.

When they draw bow, let their arrow heads be blunt.

Like a slug that melts away as it moves by,

Like a stillborn child may they not see the sun.

And before your pots can feel the heat of thorns,

Whether green or dry, the wicked melt away.

Then the righteous will be glad when they’re avenged,

And they bathe their feet in blood of wicked men.

For surely there’s a God to judge the earth.

And surely righteous men have their reward.

Yes men will say the righteous have reward

And there is a god who judges all the earth.
