The fool says in his heart,

"There is no God, there is no God."

They are all corrupt, their deeds are vile;

There’s no-one who does good.

And the LORD looks down from heaven

Upon the sons of men.

Do any understand,

And seek for God?

All have turned aside,

They have all become corrupt.

There is no-one who does good,

Not even one.

Will evildoers never learn

To call upon the LORD.

My people they devour

As men eat bread.

And if my people are afraid

And overwhelmed by dread.

They have no need to fear the foe

For they will all soon be dead.

And God has scattered all the bones

Of those attacking you.

For those God has despised

Are put to shame.

O that God’s salvation

For his people Israel.

Would soon come out from Zion walls,

Yes soon come out from her.

When the LORD restores the fortunes

Of his people, we’ll rejoice.

With Jacob and with Israel

We’ll be glad!
