Have mercy on me, O God,

according to your unfailing love;

according to your great compassion

blot out all of my transgressions.

Wash away all my iniquity

cleanse me from my sin.

For I know my transgressions,

my sin is always before me.

Against you and you only, have I sinned

and done what is evil in your sight,

so that you’re proved right when you speak

justified when you judge.

Surely I was sinful at birth,

sinful from the time

my mother conceived me

Surely you desire truth in the inner parts;

you teach me wisdom in the inmost place.

Cleanse me with hyssop, and then  I shall be clean;

wash me, and I’ll be whiter than snow.

Let me hear joy and gladness;

Let the bones you’ve crushed rejoice.

Hide your face from my sins

Hide your face from my sins

 and blot out all my iniquity.

Create in me a pure heart, O God,

Renew a steadfast spirit in me.

Do not cast me from your presence

or take your Holy Spirit from me.

Restore to me the joy of salvationand grant me a willing spirit,

To sustain me.

Then I will teach sinners your ways,

Then they’ll turn back to you.

Made righterous before you

Save me from this bloodguilt, O God,

You’re the God who saves me,

O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will declare your praise

and my tongue it will sing of all your righteousness.

You do not delight in sacrifice

You don’t take pleasure in burnt offerings.

But what our God requires

and Our God won’t despise.

A broken spirits ands a contrite heart.

So build up Jerusalem

Make Zion your city to prosper.

Then there’ll be righteous sacrifice

That your God may take delight in

So build up Jerusalem

Make Zion your city to prosper.

Then there’ll be righteous sacrifice

More than bulls upon your altar.
