In you, O LORD, I have refuge; so let me LORD

Never be put to shame.

Deliver me in your righteousness;

Turn your ear to me and rescue me.

Be my rock and refuge;

A strong fortress to save me.

You’re my rock and fortress,

For your name’s sake lead and guide me.

Quickly come free me from the trap set for me

You are my refuge LORD.

Into your hands I will entrust my spirit;

Deliver me, faithful God.

Be my rock and refuge,

A strong fortress to save me.

You’re my rock and refuge,

For your name’s sake lead and guide me.

I hate those who cling to their worthless idols;

For me, I will trust the LORD.

I will be glad and rejoice in your love,

For you knew of my anguish LORD.

You saw my affliction

But my enemies could not me enthral,

Or lay hands upon me,

My feet in spacious places did fall.

I’m in distress LORD, be merciful to me,

My eyes they grow weak with grief.

My life’s consumed both my soul and my body,

In groaning my years fly by.

And through my affliction,

My strength it fails within.

And through my affliction,

My bones they grow weak and thin.

Because of my enemies, I’m held in

Utter contempt by my neighbours.

I am a dread to my friends - those who see me

They flee from me in the street.

I am quite forgotten,

As though I were one dead;

Like some broken pottery,

I am scorned and I’m held in dread.

I hear many whispering;

“There is terror on every side.”

They conspire against me,

They plot to take my life.

I trust in you, LORD; I say, “You are my God,”

My times they are in your hands.

Deliver me from the hands of my enemies,

Those who’re pursuing me.

Let your face shine on me;

Save me through your unfailing love.

I have cried out to you;

So don’t let me be put to shame.

But LORD shame the wicked;

Let them lie silent in the grave:

Their lying lips be silenced,

For their pride and their words of contempt.

Bridge

LORD how abundant are all the good things

Stored up for those who fear you.

For all to see you bestow good upon

All those who hide themselves in you.

In your presence keep them

Safe from all the intrigues of men.

In your dwelling keep them

Safe from accusing tongues of men.

Praise to the LORD, who has shown me the wonders

Of his love when under siege.

When in the city I cried in alarm,

 “I am cut off from your sight!”

Yet you heard my crying,

When I called out to you for help.

Heard my cry for mercy

When I called out to you for help.

So love the LORD, all of you who are faithful,

For he will preserve your life;

You who are true to him, he will preserve

But the proud he pays back in full.

Be strong and firm hearted,

All you who put your hope in the LORD.

Yes be strong and take heart,

All you who put your hope in the LORD.
