Psalm 27: The LORD is my light, my salvation

Jeff Lowe: lead vocal, backing vocals, piano, guitar, synth -glock, bass
Paul Bellingham: piano
The LORD is my light, my salvation.
He’s the stronghold of my life.
I won’t be afraid, whom shall I fear
When men they bring evil and strife.
When enemies and foes they attack me,
Bring slander and seek my downfall;
Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear,
For they will all stumble and fall.
And though war breaks out against me,
My confidence will be in the LORD.
I’ll make music sing praises to him with shouts of joy.
One thing I’ll ask of the LORD;
One thing of him I will seek;
That I may dwell in the house of the LORD
Through all of the days left to me.
I’ll seek the LORD in his temple,
Gaze on his beauty and light,
And in my trouble he will keep me safe;
Take shelter in him from the night.
For he’s set me high on a rock,
Exalted me over my foes.
I’ll make music; sing praises to him with shouts of joy.
Be merciful to me, answer me LORD.
Hear me when I call to thee.
Your face I would seek, do not hide from me LORD,
My God don’t be angry with me.
Though father and mother reject me,
Please LORD don’t you forsake me;
For you’ve been my helper, my Saviour my God,
Receive me, your face I would see.
For you’ve set me high on a rock,
Exalted me over my foes.
I’ll make music, sing praises to you with shouts of joy.
Teach me your ways LORD, lead me in straight paths,
When false ones against me do rise.
When oppressors breathe violence, threaten my life,
LORD don’t give me up to their lies.
I’ll remain confident, trusting the LORD;
His goodness I’ll live to see.
Be strong and take heart you who wait for the LORD,
Whilst here on this earth you must be.
And though war breaks out against me,
My confidence will be in the LORD.
I’ll make music; sing praises to him with shouts of joy. (repeat)
